Grahame James Berecry was admitted as a solicitor in
1981. He acted as a master of the Supreme Court for 6 years and was a registrar
for approximately 20 years. He undertook ACDC’s alternate dispute
resolution course in 1991 and the advanced mediator’s course two years
later. In 1994 he conducted an ADR pilot program in the Equity Division of the
Supreme Court of New South Wales. Subsequently, he was instrumental in
developing mediation as a process in the Equity Division.
Since 1995 he: -
- Has conducted over 800 successful mediations
- Is an experienced mediator of disputes relating to applications
under the Family Provision Act, Property (Relationships) Act, trusts
(including cy pres schemes), partnership, specific performance, land
(easements, rights of way, statutory sale) nuisance, trespass to land and
damages
- Largest number of participants attending a mediation was 22
- Largest mediated claim was approximately $10m
- Has conducted common law and appellate mediations
- Is a former member of the ADR Steering Committee of the Supreme
Court
- Is a former member of the Law Society’s ADR committee
- Has been involved in presentation of mediation seminars with
ADRA, ACDC, Law Society and LEADR
- Is a member of the NSW Bar Association
- Is a member of the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators
