John de Meyrick
   
  John de Meyrick MBE, LLM(Hons), MEc (Syd), MIBA, FAIM is a Sydney Barrister who practices in New South Wales, Queensland and federal jurisdictions, and in particular in industrial relations and employment law, occupational health and safety, commercial law, trade practices and intellectual property.

John has been involved in more than 160 reported judgments. He has also served as a District Court Arbitrator delivering over 120 judgments. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, a Member of the International Bar Association and has been admitted to Kings Inns in Ireland. He is an author on legal matters and has been for many years a guest speaker and lecturer at a number of universities and institutes, and is retained by several major companies to advise on industrial relations and employment law matters.

Prior to joining the NSW Bar in 1980, John had a varied career as an electrical engineer, journalist, factory manager and management consultant before becoming the CEO of a public service body for the electricity distribution industry in NSW.

In his earlier career John served for many years as a Member of the Australian National Committee of the UN sponsored World Energy Conference (an organisation monitoring the world's energy resources) and also on the federal Government's Technical and Further Education Commission. He was awarded the MBE in 1978 for his services to technology and technical education.
